  1. Next trip keep driving to Chicago, Detroit, Philly or just stop in downtown St. Louis If you’re feeling adventurous. I think you’ll find some abandoned buildings, people feeling down and out and wondering where to turn, and maybe angry as well. Last I checked those cities and states are pretty well dominated by Democrats and have a lot of the same issues or maybe worse when you look at the crime and murder rates. Those cities and states also have their share of rich people living in them as well—maybe more. Who should those poor people turn to or be upset with? Sen Dick Durbin, Gov. Pritzker, Mayor Lightfoot, Mayor Duggar, Gov Wolf,……….Point is I don’t think either political party has the silver bullet but maybe I’m wrong if those cities are the destinations we should be moving to. The statistics show NY, IL and other states and cities in the North are losing population and the South gaining. Not sure it’s all weather but again maybe I’m wrong or something else is wrong.
I’ve made that same trip many times as well and I can’t say I was ever concerned about my safety along the way but can’t say the say about some of the areas I’ve been to in the cities mentioned above. Just sayin

    1. Tom… points well made. And no, the Democrats aren’t any better. And I don’t offer them as the answer.
As you point out, I could do the same column on St. Louis. The town is a wreck, all under Democratic leadership since forever..
I think the answer is common sense, real people, like hopefully you and me, working together to solve issues with compromise on both sides.
Thanks for reading, thanks for the comment. Let’s discuss more over a cocktail. Next post will be non political… “Three day with the folks- a trip to my future.
