it’s hard to reconcile the Sermon on the Mount with much of what occurs under the name of Christianity.
That’s not just recent times and the truly horrible church scandals. Or the MAGA equation of Trumps perversions with godliness. Or the vilification of people based on their race, religion, immigration status or sexual orientation. Jesus godless is inconsistent with all of that. )
Thanks for reading Dorothy, you’re one of my biggest fans! I hesitated posting this, but I can’t take the hypocrisy any longer. That cross necklace on the press secretary was the turning point. Of course, lot of good Christians out there.
Tim whenever I see the cross around Leavitt’s neck I think of my dad. He had a saying ‘we have enough crosses to bear in our lives without wearing one around our necks’.
There is definitely a part of us that want to be told how to live our lives. However more than ever (especially women) need to come forward, be vocal and independent and stand up to the dictator trying to takeover. It takes courage to call out people that make us feel inferior, weak, bully others, etc, but we all need to stand up. It takes a village and we can’t sit here and be silent and think this isn’t right, but what can I do? Write the senators, congressman, Supreme Court. Locally go to protests. Be loud. Make your voice heard.
That would be the “Christian way” I would think?
