I have mentioned Daniel’s situation to many people and most of them have not realized Mayo relies on government money for a good part of its research. A good number of these people have personally visited Mayo or have had family members be patients there. Without exception, they sing its praises. So much of the citizenry’s apathy comes from people not feeling personally affected by this administration’s policies.
Daniel loved the work he was doing at Mayo. I hope he is able to find comparable personal and professional pride in his new position.
